Keep your no-longer-wanted decorations out of the landfill and refresh your holiday decor with a quick trip to the Library! 

Clean out your holiday decoration storage bins, boxes, and cabinets, and bring unwanted items to this swap event and get something new-to-you! Decorations, ornaments, lighting, inflatables, linens, etc. are all great options to trade, but please use your judgment as to whether or not your treasures are in good enough shape to swap. 

Donations will be accepted in the Main Library Media Room beginning Monday, September 28 until Friday, October 2, during library hours. (A staff member at the Reference desk can help transport items downstairs.) Items will be available on a first-come, first-served basis at the swap on Saturday, October 3. All leftover decorations will be donated. 

For adults. Registration not required. If you have any questions, please contact Kate at kmcfadden@minlib.net.

What to donate:

  • working lights
  • working inflatables (deflated and boxed/bagged)
  • decorations in good condition
  • linens
  • plates/platters

What NOT to donate:

  • broken items
  • clothes
  • large items (no Christmas trees, please!)
  • candles
  • crafts

The Main Library is located on Church Street in Dedham Square. In addition to traditional library material, the Main Library also houses town archives, the Dedham Collection.
