Dedham Reads Together 2026: Footsteps of Freedom

Looking for a fun and exciting way to wrap up this semiquincentennial summer? Participate in a Dedham-wide scavenger hunt of Revolutionary War proportions!

Pick up a booklet at the Main Library and get started on cracking codes that will lead you to several historic locations around town. Solve all the clues to be entered into a special prize drawing!

Directions:

• Starting Monday, August 24 through Saturday, September 26, pick up a booklet from the Main or Endicott Branch Library Reference desks.
• A clue will be given for a corresponding Dedham location; find that location and visit during their open hours to solve the clue!
• Find all the locations and inform a member of the DPL staff at either Reference desk to receive your prize entry ticket.
• Booklets must be returned by the end of the day on Monday, September 28 in order to enter the prize drawing. Winners will be notified on Tuesday, September 29.
• Prizes need to be picked up by Saturday, October 10 at the Main Library.

All locations are found within Dedham, represented as a book on the NEW shelves of the Main Library, or found within the Dedham Collection at the Main Library. Don’t forget to check hours of operation for each location before visiting!

Prize drawings include Visa gift cards and passes to the New Bedford Whaling Museum!
