Unearth a story 600 million years in the making! Participants will take a deep dive into the geologic origins of Massachusetts, with a particular focus on the Connecticut River Valley and its remarkable abundance of trace fossils. Drawing on insights from the ichnology (tracks and traces) collections at Amherst College, this experience brings ancient landscapes to life. Guiding the journey is Fred Venne, longtime science educator at the Beneski Museum of Natural History at Amherst College, whose expertise will illuminate the region’s dynamic geologic past.
We'll be screening Fred's presentation at the Main Library but if you would prefer to watch via Zoom, you can access the link here. [Meeting ID: 953 2685 8011, Passcode: 201032]
For adults. Registration required. Please reach out to Michaela at mcalderwood@minlib.net with any questions.
