About Zhantao Lin:
Zhantao Lin was formerly an Associate Professor at the Guangxi Arts Institute and served as a board member of the Chinese Professional Erhu Players’ Guild. He has performed at numerous institutions and cultural venues across the United States. He participated in Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project and was invited by the Galicia Fiddle A.C. (Spanish Strings Association) to give lectures and perform in Santiago, Spain.
In 2018, he starred in and served as the principal musician for the short film Descendants of String, for which he also recorded the soundtrack featuring the erhu as the lead instrument. The film won an award at the Los Angeles Asian Film Festival in October 2019. In January 2019, Zhantao was named a Blodgett Visiting Artist by the Department of Music at Harvard University. In 2025, he was invited by The National Council for the Traditional Arts to perform at the Montana Folk Festival.
